Many people tend to be confused with these three. I myself before diving into internet marketing was confused with these 3 terms that seem to intertwine with one another so often in service offerings from SEO firms, internet marketing consultants or online marketer.
They looked the same but they aren’t. There are clear distinction between the three:
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines. There are many Canadian SEO, to help your site tremendously. Usually, the earlier a site is presented in the search results, or the higher it “ranks,” the more searchers will visit that site. The leading search engines, Google, Yahoo! and Microsoft, use crawlers to find pages for their algorithmic search results.
Search Engine Marketing (SEM)
Search engine marketing, or SEM, is a form of Internet marketing that seeks to promote websites by increasing their visibility in search engine result pages (SERPs). According to the Search Engine Marketing Professionals Organization, SEM methods include: search engine optimization (or SEO), paid placement, and paid inclusion.
Internet marketing is also known as e-marketing or online marketing. It is the marketing of products or services over the Internet. Internet marketing methods include search engine marketing (SEM), e-mail marketing, affiliate marketing, display advertising, interactive advertising and also Social Media Marketing such as blog marketing, and viral marketing.
