It’s Ipoh! Not Subang!

Yesterday I was told to help circulate this message around (read: Public Announcement), & after going through the news here today;

“IPOH: Five men abducted a college student from a shopping centre car park here, taking her on a terror ride before dumping her by the roadside.

State CID chief Senior Asst Comm (II) Datuk A. Paramasivam said on Tuesday that the men had approached the girl and her boyfriend, both 18, on a fourth-floor parking lot in the 7.20pm incident on Monday.

The young couple, had just left the shopping centre where the boyfriend worked and were getting into their car when the group of men appeared, he said.

“They pushed the boyfriend aside, got into the car and drove off with the girl still inside. She was later dropped off at the junction leading to Cameron Highlands in Simpang Pulai at about 8pm,” SAC Paramasivam told reporters.

The couple’s car, he said, was later found abandoned behind a bank in Jelapang here an hour later.

“Nothing was taken from the couple and they were not hurt or assaulted,” SAC Paramasivam said, adding that the suspects did not cover their faces and were unarmed.

“We have classified the case as robbery but have yet to establish a motive,” he said.

Advising the public to be more alert at car parks, SAC Paramasivam said they should go back into the building to get help from security guards or report suspicious characters to the police.

“If people can be a bit more alert, a lot can be prevented.

“Key in the numbers of police control centres into your mobile phones to alert the police sooner,” he said, adding that the public could SMS the police any information they had through the Rakan Cop hotline at 32728. Source: The Star”
