Hancock

hancockI watched this show is all because of Will Smith, and erm, Charlize Theron (hot!) too? We all know that with great power comes great responsibility but this show portrays the other way round as a social outcast gifted with superhuman powers out to do good but being hated and not respected.

This movie is somehow edgy, cranky, conflicted, overly misunderstood, and sarcastic. Hancock’s well-intentioned heroics might get the job done and save countless lives, but always seem to leave jaw-dropping damage in their wake. The public has finally had enough of his misdemeanor though as grateful as they are to have their local hero, the good citizens of LA are wondering what they ever did to deserve this guy’s service.

Hancock is not the kind of man who cares or even bother to think about other people’s thoughts until the faithful day that he saves the life of PR executive Ray Embrey (Jason Bateman), and the sardonic superhero begins to get a grasp of reality that he may have a vulnerable side after all. Facing that will be Hancock’s greatest challenge yet and a task that may prove impossible as Ray’s wife, Mary (Theron) insists that he’s a lost cause.

The climax came when Hancock had to come to grasp that Mary was in fact his long lost wife which was similar to his kind. Insisting to know why his ‘wife’ wonders away from him, Mary had to explain that when a pair of immortals get close to each other physically, they begin to lose their powers. She also tells him that they were being attacked as a couple many times throughout history, most recently being in an alley in Miami 80 years ago. His skull was fractured during the attack, causing amnesia. To save his life at the time, Mary had deserted him, allowing him to recover from his injuries.

The hospital where Hancock was warded soon was attacked by villains. Mary was wounded when she tried to protect Hancock. Hancock finishes off the villain’s attack and wounding the others in process. After all were eliminated Hancock made an escape to be as far away as possible so Mary could heal. Hancock settled down in NY and works as a superhero.

Sound corny eh? It’s Will Smith you are talking about!
