Boyz II Genting

Boyz II Men in Genting’s Arena of Stars! Argghh..feck! Only lately many international R&B/rap artists are allowed to perform in Malaysia (I guess) as the government are more relaxed about the rules of foreign artists performing in Malaysian soil.

Government used to hate urban music (especially rap) cultures in Malaysia. And since deathmetal & blackmetal cults are emerging & in their ‘life threatening’ glory, the government has forgotten about urban music culture & diverted their attention to curb ‘budaya kuning’ in blackmetal/deathmetal culture. Go figure!

Founded back in 1988 as a quintet, this American R&B / soul singing group from Philadelphia found fame as a quartet, comprising of members Wanya Morris, Michael McCary, Shawn Stockman, and Nathan Morris. The group initially signed up with Motown Records which later moved to parent label Universal Records.

Boyz II Men is notably one of the most successful R&B groups of all time. It has recorded five Number 1 R&B hits between 1992 and 1997, and has since sold more than 85 million records. Three of its Number 1 hits, “End Of The Road”, “I’ll Make Love to You”, and “One Sweet Day” (a duet with Mariah Carey), set and broke records for the longest period of time a single remained at the top spot of the Billboard “Hot 100”.

The members of Boyz II Men are particularly noted for their vocal abilities, and helped continue a trend in R&B towards an emphasis on emotive singing. Today Wanya Morris, Shawn Stockman, and Nathan Morris continue to tour and record as a trio as Michael McCary left the group in 2003.

Hurry, the concert is just around the corner! Book fast to avoid disappointment!

Urban music is cool & healthy, so what’s the fuss of combating urban music fans before? Silly fecks. Tak ada kerja cari kerja.

By the way, I am big fan of Boyz II Men the soulful quartet (now trio) hailed from Philly that captured everybody’s heart especially those lovebirds with down-to-your-knees-begging-you-please-come-back-to-me that mellow all the laydees. If I am home, I will definitely go & watch their performances. Such a big miss. Damnit.
